Our client is a manufacturer and distributor of premium electrical products; a highly respected brand and leader in their market categories.

On their behalf we are searching for an experienced, hands on and proactive Production Planner & Controller to join the existing Operations team. 

Reporting to the Team Leader, this role's key objectives are to effectively schedule and coordinate the flow of work and materials between production departments, and to schedule and coordinate incoming sea and air freight products to the warehouse. The role is crucial to maintaining our client’s commitment to ensuring customer expectations are consistently met.

If successfully selected for this vital, busy and varied role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure daily production requirements are met to satisfy demand and meet customer expectation;
  • Ensure daily delivery requirements are met;
  • Review and distribute production and shipment schedules, ensuring each part of the operation meets shipping dates to meet order demands;
  • Create production schedules, focussing on lead times and prioritising orders for production optimisation;
  • Accurately enter job confirmations on MRP system;
  • Input data on MRP system to support raw materials and finished goods procurement;
  • Coordinate materials and planning for any outsourced production;
  • Coordinate with sales teams to feedback information on customer orders and stock requirements;
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders and support operations and production teams as required.

To be considered for this role you must possess the following skills and experience:-

  • At least 1 years’ experience in a similar MRP planning role;
  • Proven inventory management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written;
  • Customer focused; goal oriented; striving for continuous improvement;
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Excel and ERP systems, experience with Syteline would be highly regards, not essential;
  • Strong data analysis skills;
  • Highly organised, deadline driven and able to multi-task and work on multiple project concurrently;
  • A team player with the ability to build strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders;
  • A "hands on - can do" attitude and an eye for detail are essential.

It is essential that you possess excellent communication skills and a flexible nature. You must have a positive attitude, initiative and the drive to deliver continued process improvements to ensure customer demands and expectations are met every time.
