This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Machine Operator to join Visy Board, Truganina.

Visy is a leading, privately owned packaging and resource Recovery Company, with more than 120 sites across Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Vietnam and trading offices across Asia, Europe and the USA.

The main objective of the role is to Operate Strapping line and associated equipment to meet agreed production, service and quality standards.

This position reports directly to Shift Supervisor.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Operate Feed and and stacking end to agreed production, service and quality standards
• Ensure equipment is correctly maintained; and that maintenance is performed to keep machines within specifications and in Safe working order.
• Ensure the correct board is available and within specifications to the feed unit at all times
• Be fully conversant on all aspects of the Strapping line and associated equipment.
• Ensure a continual flow of board into machine, limiting all downtime factors
• Maintain Safe work & operating practices; and maintain a high standard of housekeeping during production, at shift end and at scheduled maintenance.
• Regularly review work processes and assist in identifying improvements to process and procedures.
• Ensure a high level of safety and housekeeping is maintained at all times

To be considered for this role you will need to have the following capabilities;

• Excellent Communication Skills
• Computer literate
• Be an excellent team player
• Have demonstrated leadership qualities
• Previous Forklift Experience -highly regarded
• Prior Fibre Packaging industry knowledge - highly regarded
• Ability to work a 2 week rotating roster: Day shift - 7am -3pm / Arvo shift - 3pm - 11pm
