About the role

An opportunity now exists for an experienced and effective Manufacturing Manager to work on our exciting programs based at our state of the art Aerospace facility in Bankstown.

The role will be responsible for ensuring the production team operates as an advanced manufacturing operation that delivers on safety, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement targets through a competent, multi-skilled and engaged team. The achievement of customer requirements and the production schedule is paramount to the success of this role. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Manage effective and efficient resource allocation across the manufacturing functions of the Bankstown operations, ensuring optimal utilisation of skilled resources to deliver quality products safely, on time and with the greatest production efficiencies.
• Ensure all activities undertaken by the Program team comply with relevant Acts, Legislaton, Company Procedures and ethical standards
• Promote a proactive approach to Safety, driving to a zero harm target
• Responsible for team outcomes of 'right first time', scrap, training facilitation and overall product quality in line with manufacturing process capabilities
• Report current Program status eg: earned value, schedule, cost of rework repair and scrap, Overtime cost
• Manage cross-functional teams to achieve successful outcomes
• Provide direction, guidance, and coaching to Manufacturing Leads
• Support the activities, objectives, policies and programs within the context of the overall functional plan to establish a 'process based organisation'

Skills and experience

We are looking for candidates who possess the following attributes and skills:

• Excellent problem solving skills
• Demonstrated experience in having developed and managed a new team to achieve effective business outcomes.
• Strong computer literacy including, spreadsheet modeling, word processing, power point and MS Project
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
• Detailed knowledge of current and emerging manufacturing methods, systems and processes
• Flexible and open to change as the company grows
• Model flexibility and adaptability to achieve team/business objectives
• Achievement orientated and prides oneself on the achievement of effective and efficient outcomes
• A demonstrated track record of introducing innovative new processes and methods such as Risk Management and Change Management improvements
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
