Our Resource & Industrial Team are currently seeking a Transport Coordinator to join the team based at Dandenong.

Reporting into the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of despatch and driving compliance for both local and interstate work for one of our well-known customers. You will be supported by team of 18-20 drivers, consisting of both Linfox and Sub Contractor fleet. 

As a Transport Coordinator, you will need to be flexible to work a rotating roster with the management team to be able to cover two sets of shifts. Typically, when looking after our interstate side of the business you will be required to work 8am until 5pm and local work will require you to commence at 4am until 1pm. These times may vary depending on the work load.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, your responsibilities will include, however not limited to:

  • Participating in and committing to Safety Standards and COR requirements at all times;
  • Complying with all statutory requirements for the transport of hazardous and other freight, locally, interstate and internationally at times
  • Conducting of regular audits and compliance with drivers in the yard
  • Creating load plans for both local, interstate and international despatch
  • Creating basic reports, KPI’s and Spreadsheets

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • Previous experience in a Transport environment which will be essential for the success of this role;
  • A solid understanding of Melbourne and transport routes is essential;
  • Experience with Dangerous Goods would be considered an advantage;
  • Understanding of NHV regulation is highly regarded;
  • Understanding of SOLAS requirements would be highly regarded
  • Having a HR or HC license is considered advantageous, however not essential;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
  • A solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel and Word. Exposure to SAP would be an advantage, however not essential;
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

You will be required to meet Linfox's employment criteria which will include but not be limited to a Criminal History Check and full medical with a drug and alcohol test.
