About Cummins Scoresby
We have grown tremendously over the past 10 years at the Scoresby Warehouse, our volumes have increased and so has the size of our team. You’ll be leading, engaging and developing a close-knit, experienced team in our flagship warehouse that supplies Cummins branches and customers Australia wide.
About the role
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will directly manage 4 team leaders and 4 teams covering day and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday. With a focus on front end management and continuous improvements, this key leadership role will see you drive change, develop and promote your staff and team leaders and ensure processes, procedures, H&S and KPI’s are met.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead, engage, coach, develop and manage your direct reports of 4 team leaders (outbound and inbound) and your indirect reports of 30-40 warehouse staff
- Coach and develop the leadership skills of your 4 team leaders
- Identify talent and opportunities for personal and professional development across the wider team, nurturing that potential
- Manage resources and space, predicting peaks, forecasting needs, identifying the best people for different tasks and streamlining the flow of work to increase efficiencies
- Drive change, collaboration and process improvements
- Lead health safety promotion and compliance, actively completing JSA’s and hazard assessments
- Have some flexibility in your work hours outside of your standard 8:30am to 5pm in order to oversee and engage with the 2 shifts (6am-2:30 pm & 1:30pm to 10pm) as required
About you
- Strong leadership experience managing similar sized teams (30-40 staff) in a warehousing environment
- Ideally possess a frontline management or warehousing qualification, or extensive experience in lieu
- Proven leadership and both frontline & directional management
- Have an engaging and encompassing leadership style with a genuine interest in developing others
- Strong warehousing experience and ability to understand warehousing processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven PC and MS Suite skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and an interest in continuous improvement
- Be a confident problem solver, able to engage others for their input and gain their buy in for change
- A Forklift licence is advantageous
- Have a strong focus on safety, putting that first for every task, every day
