Seven West Media is the leading, listed national multi-platform media business based in Australia comprising Seven Television; Pacific Magazines, the country’s second largest magazine group by readership; as well as Western Australia’s leading newspaper, The West Australian and associated WA regional newspapers and radio stations.

The Procurement team partners with Seven West Media business units to ensure optimal and innovative use of company resources. We now have a challenging and rewarding opportunity within our Team, whose remit is to optimise expenditure and, in collaboration with stakeholders, continually improve value and quality for goods and services spend as well as developing and improving supplier performance. This requires ‘end-to-end’ strategic sourcing solutions, from idea generation through to presentation and approval and ultimately implementation. 

Reporting to the Head of Procurement your key accountabilities include three main areas: 

Category Management (predominately indirects):

• End to end sourcing for categories from leading RFPs, contract negotiation, overseeing implementation and ongoing vendor management
• Develop and implement best-in-class, innovative sourcing strategies and plans that optimise return on investment across a wide range of categories
• Provide category knowledge and expertise, strategic sourcing advice and guidance as a business partner to a range of internal stakeholders
• Work in collaboration with legal teams to manage the establishment and execution of contracts, ensuring the right commercial outcome and effective risk management
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships in a variety of situations and timescales

Travel Management:

• Companywide operational responsibility for management of travel activities
• Approvals of travel outside Travel Policy
• Facilitate resolution of traveller issues
• Vendor management of the Travel Management Company (TMC) to ensure that the performance meets the business’ expectations and suppliers achieve KPIs according to contract.

Analytic support for all sourcing activities:

• Strong analytical skills, including Excel capabilities and advanced numeracy
• Ability to investigate and critically interpret data including identification of trends, opportunities and solutions based on both qualitative and quantitative data
• Lead market and supplier investigations

We are seeking applicants with the following experience:

• Demonstrated strategic sourcing experience across a broad range of both direct and indirect procurement categories, including Travel, IT, Facilities and Fleet or equivalent consulting experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Demonstrated experience in identifying, interrogating and manipulating multiple data sources to undertake analysis 
• Skills in Microsoft Excel
• CIPS qualified and/or degree in business, finance or a related disciplined with strong financial acumen is an advantage
• Ability to work in a fast-paced role, juggling multiple projects and deadlines
• Knowledge of the media industry or related industry will be preferred
• Support and contribute towards a working environment that encourages high performance, problem-solving initiatives and creativity
• Have a willingness to learn and develop in the role
• Demonstrated experience in reviewing agreements and contracts
• Contract negotiating skills
