Currently recruiting for a highly experienced Health and Safety Manager within the Rail industry.

You will be supporting the business and key stakeholders in providing guidance, coaching and leadership, health and safety management systems including Rail Safety Law, Environmental and injury management systems. The Health and Safety Manager will provide risk management and legal compliance expertise and assisting the business in providing assurance around compliance.

In order to be successful applicants will need to meet the following criteria -

• Meet and maintain the requirements of a Rail Safety Worker Category 3 Rail safety worker
• Significant demonstrable experience in implementing and health and safety management systems
• Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety (masters)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in similar role
• Nationally recognised training in investigation techniques
• Qualified Return to Work Coordinator with minimum 2 year practical experience
• Good analytical skills, and demonstrated practical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills
• Proficient at using and generating documents with MS Word, Excel and powerpoint
• Ability to work under broad direction, exercise initiative and be innovative in the approach to problem solving
• Experienced in auditing WHS or Environmental Management systems
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and implement change
• Good understanding of Work Health & Safety, Environmental or Rail Safety legislative requirements
• Knowledge of relevant Occupational / Work Health & Safety, or Environmental Management System standards
• Knowledge and experience in risk management
• Rail safety management system knowledge preferred
