OPERATIONAL SUPPLY AND SOURCING SPECIALIST - PURCHASING | PROCUREMENT

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Specialist to join the team for a 6-month contract. Reporting to the Operational Supply Sourcing Lead you will be capable of slotting in and using your experience in purchasing and sourcing to provide specialist advice; as well as execute category management to secure supply with minimum risk to the business.

• Ensure delivery against plans

• Execute sourcing strategy and plan

• Category management and purchasing processes

• Develops effective relationships with internal and external business leaders

• Forecast demand and verify that the established contracts are effective

• Support category management leadership

• Compile requirement and analyse key data input to formulate category and sourcing strategy

• Lead negotiation with suppliers

• Review contract awards and subsequent approval

• Monitor portfolio of suppliers

• Resolution of supplier performance and escalations

• Tertiary Qualification in Supply Management or Business

• 5+ Years’ experience in a commercial/supply environment (mining and metals industry experience looked favourably upon)

• Experience developing Commercial Strategy

• Experience leading high level strategic negotiations

• Strong understanding of bulk materials and inter-nodal logistics market
