Certificate III Engineering/Fabrication Trades (Boilermaker)

Our client is a professional and trusted name in the engineering and industrial manufacturing Industry.
Due to the increasing volume of work, their workshop is looking for 2 more committed and qualified boilermakers to join their great team on a full time basis – plenty of overtime!


Purpose: 

This position has overall responsibility for the welding and fabrication of Grating, Ball-tube and Handrail (Steel and Aluminium) including all work functions related to this type of work.

All the work is based on the company’s manufacturing factory in south West Sydney near Bankstown. Around 200 personal on site.

The role will be based on their production line and hourly rate is $32.64 p/hr plus super for standard hours, and overtime is paid at time & half for first 3 hours and double time there after.

To be successful in this role you must-have a minimum Certificate III in Fabrication and Welding (mandatory), minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment , Be able to read and interpret drawings and be able to weld to AS 1554 SP2014 

 
Education / Skills:

• Hold a current Trades Certificate (Cert III in Fabrication Trade – Heavy)or other equivalent qualifications
• Have a working knowledge of computerised drawings
• Hold a current forklift licence (Advantageous)
• Tradesmen with steel Handrail experience (Advantageous)

Technical Experience:

• Fabrication / Welding, minor painting and ancillary duties
• Ability to evaluate, understand and fabricate from technical drawings, achieving a high quality result
• Work must be carried out in accordance with relevant Australian Standards & in line with internal Quality Systems
• Will be responsible for the housekeeping and cleanliness of your designated work place and site in general to 5S Standard.
• To produce the allocated job within the estimated and designated hours, as repeatedly proven by your peers.
• Identify improvements, and complete a Non Conformance Report (NCQ-FM-08) if/when required.
• To help train apprentices by demonstrating correct work procedures

Safety:

• To work in a safe manner using appropriate Safe Work Instructions or Safety Operating Procedures and comply with relevant OHS Policies.
• To notify supervisor or safety committee delegate immediately of any hazards in the workplace and to monitor any actions taken to correct hazards to ensure that the hazard is removed from the workplace
• Take all reasonable care and personal responsibility for the health and safety and maintenance of a safe work environment

You must also be willing to undertake pre-employment medical including functional assessment and drug and alcohol testing.
