Podpac is one of Australia’s leading coffee pod/capsule manufacturers. This young rapidly growing FMCG business is experiencing strong growth, with distribution channels spread across leading retail chains / supermarkets and international markets.

Reporting to Operations Manager, the position will focus on the following functions;

• You will be overseeing the efficient operation of both manual and automated packaging machinery with additional duties in support to production teams.
• Setting & carrying out machine changeovers
• Making necessary adjustments, repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment performance & product quality
• Reporting any machine malfunctions or problems to management
• Ability to undertake complex multi-disciplined troubleshooting.
• The ability to disassemble, repair and assemble machine parts.
• Cleaning and maintaining of machinery
• Producing quality products and ensuring minimal production time & wastage
• Completing of batch documentation and in process quality checks
• Productivity, quality and cost improvement focus
• As a part of the Production Team monitor KPI's, production efficiency, scrap and rework rate and initiate corrective actions
• OH&S, HACCP and Preventive Maintenance improvement

The ideal candidate will be well experienced with mechanical and/or electronic experience on high speed, PLC controlled packaging machinery with the following skills and experiences;

• Well developed and methodical trouble shooting skills across electronic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical disciplines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small production and engineering team to resolve problems or improve systems
• Food industry experience ESSENTIAL with exposure to HACCP standards
• Excellent leadership and communication skills as well as being a team player
• A commitment to Workplace Safety and Food Safety
• Have a cool head and calm manner, particularly when under pressure.

This position demands a self-starting and enthusiastic person with the ability to demonstrate initiatives and the ability to work flexible hours that will cover day, afternoon shifts and the occasional weekend with some overtime available as required.
