Job tasks and responsibilities
- Develop a "forecast" production plan based on Sales/Marketing inputs, issue purchasing requests as required to meet plan
- Determine material procurement requirements based on "forecast" plan and stock conditions by calculating the production material requirements according to the required standard stocking level
- Monitor all inventory for the production process, stock in the warehouse
- Processing and analyzing data about the "forecast" plan and realization of production, to match sales and inventory data
- Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet schedules
- Production schedule and customer OTD delivery expectation focus is required
- Perform any additional or special tasks as required by the Operations &/or Workshop Manager
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you would demonstrate and/or possess the following:
- Completed and passing of grade 12, or 12 months releated experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Additional tertiary qualification preferred.
- Five years of MRP system experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills;
- Sound Microsoft office suite skills and well developed people skills
- Working knowledge of planning & inventory functions.
- Decisiveness – ability to make decisions with speed, urgency and accuracy;
- Advocate of change, with the tenacity to overcome obstacles and solve complex business/customer problems in order to achieve desired outcomes.
