Production/Operations Manager (Food)
Our client is a very strong business with high values of integrity and delivering high standards across their fresh food technology and manufacturing business.
The situation has arisen for a new Operations Manager to join and lead their team, someone who can optimise performance and growth. Reporting to the GM your lead, quality and production improvement skills will serve to create a strong team culture with an emphasis on safety, quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage the day to day running of the business
- Oversee Production Team and achieve production targets
- Guide, mentor and train staff
- Drive continuous improvement in both production & planning
- Ensure all products are fully costed to determine margins
- Co-Ordinate & drive New Product Development
- Assess & implement Process Improvement
- Oversee QA Team & Assessing PIF material
- Manage production planning and scheduling, Procurement & Purchasing
- Proficient with SAP systems
- Meet daily targets for output
- Ensure QC's are acheived
- Staff recruitment, rostering & discipline
The successful applicant will possess:
- A qualification in Food Science/Technology (Essential)
- Frontline Management or Business Management Diploma
- Previous experience in a similar role within an FMCG company (Fresh Produce experience an advantage)
- Demonstrable experience in Lean Manufacturing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven team player
- Ability to adapt to and manage change
This position would suit a person with a technical food background, looking to transition to an Operational role
