About the National Inventory Manager

Reporting to the S&OP Manager (Sales & Operations Planning) and based at our Gibson Island office, the National Inventory Manager will join the Supply Chain Planning team whose objective is to drive best practice supply chain disciplines within the business. The position exists to ensure the effective management and inventory accuracy of over $350 million worth of finished goods and raw materials.

Duties

  • Custodian of and responsible for the development and review of IPL’s inventory management policies and procedures
  • Coordinating and participating in the execution of the monthly inventory reconciliation process,
  • Conducting internal inventory management audits against IPL's inventory management policies and procedures
  • Coordinate, train and provide ongoing support to the Inventory Control Officers to maintain accurate inventory at each site
  • Monthly reporting to support the IBP process with both the Fertiliser and Dyno Nobel businesses of IPL Asia Pacific

About you
Working collaboratively across the business is critical to the success of this position. You are a born educator and communicator and utilise these skills to bring stakeholders along on the ‘journey’ to drive best practice inventory accuracy disciplines. You will have outstanding written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable to influence at all levels within the organisation when suggesting corrective actions. With impeccable attention to detail you will bring a strong background of internal audit compliance and root cause analysis paired with excellent reporting.

Skills and Experience

  • Preferably a tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics or equivalent certification recognition by APICS
  • Proven experience implementing inventory accuracy disciplines, ideally within a resources, chemicals or manufacturing industry
  • Experience working in an environment where outcomes and deliverables are expected
  • Advanced auditing experience through analytical skills used to investigate and understand complex inventory movements with a view to resolve inventory reconciliation issues
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (in particular Excel)
  • Advanced level skills in SAP, ERPII or equivalent ERP system
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance systems
  • Knowledge of relevant Dangerous Goods Regulations is desirable as well as an SSAN Certificate or QLD Police Clearance
