 Inventory Controller

CEVA Logistics has an opportunity for an experienced Inventory Controller to join their team based in Berrinba. The purpose of this role is to provide the Operations with high levels of inventory management and control for a new customer contract.

Key Responsibilities;

• Be available to work a 3 week rotating roster that encompasses weekends. For example days of work would be;
  • Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
  • Week 2 – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
  • Week 3 – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
• Manage and co-ordinate inventory processes, systems and reporting associated with the contract
• Regularly liaison with the customer on inventory issues, reporting and adjustments
• Identify inventory discrepancies, conduct investigations and prepare reports. Where applicable, identify root causes of discrepancies and amend procedures, systems and processes where required
• Drive efficiency gains in the business through the identification of inventory issues:- recommend and implement changes and ensure changes are enduring to the business
• Plan for and implement new inventory into the operation – system and physical slotting
• Manage annual, cyclical and ad-hoc stock taking processes including the provision of timely reports
• Standardisation of processes and systems across the site to ensure day to day inventory control operations are managed consistently, efficiently and effectively
• Facilitate and co-ordinate the development of inventory control, processes and systems in lune with contract objectives
• Regularly analyse velocity of inventory to identify fast and slow moving stock. Make recommendations for reclassifying inventory and implement if approved
• Ensure warehouse utilisation is maintained to maximise storage location use via inventory management

Knowledge, Skills and Experience;

• Experience in inventory management role
• Substantial experience in the management and operation of inventory systems, procedures and operational practices for multi-site operations
• Experience in planning, execution and management of cyclical and annual stock takes involving a large and diverse SKU base.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills to populate and manipulate data
• Certificate III in Warehousing and Distribution (or relevant technical qualification, desired)
• A strong customer service and customer relationship management orientation
• Flexibility in being able to travel both intra-State and inter-State to attend company business. At times, travel will be at short notice.
• Capability of dealing with pressured scenarios in a calm and systematic manner
• Actively seeks to work cooperatively with peers and work as part of a team
• Possess strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
