Operations Supervisor – Berrinba

CEVA logistics has an opportunity for an experienced, driven and demonstrated Operations Supervisor located in Berrinba. This role will report directly to the Operations Manager.

The purpose of these two role is to effectively lead, manage, support and develop the team in order to deliver operational excellent. Support the respective leadership team including the Operational Lead in the safe delivery of service excellence to our customers, impeccable execution for the supply chain operations business.

It is vital that you are customer focused, resilient, have strong commercial acumen and understand the operations of a 3PL environment. 

Key Responsibilities;

  • Interested applicants must be available to work 10am – 6pm and complete a 3 week rotating roster including weekend work, for examples days of work are;
    • Week 1 – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
    • Week 2 – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
    • Week 3 – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient day to day operations at the site. To lead and develop a culture focusing on safety, service and operations excellence and promote a culture or self-resolution
  • Provide direction to floor staff on the day to day operational tasks, review and develop processes, drive efficiencies and improve overall performance
  • Actively participate in the implementation of new business, and develop operational customer relationships
  • Lead and participate in people development strategies including talent management (succession planning), performance review and personal development plans
  • Proactively build effective working relationships with stakeholders to promote teamwork and cooperation, to build a high performing team culture that builds the self-esteem of individuals and encourages teamwork, continuous improvement and a high performance culture
  • Accountable to meet or exceed targets for:  Safety and Environment, Customer and internal Ops KPI’s, Ops Excellence, (Kaizen, LEAN and SCA etc.), Service Delivery, and Financial outcomes
  • Liaise with Manager on day to day operational and tactical issues.
  • Use delegation, consultation and clear expectations to assist in the development and maintenance of standards and encourage freedom to make decisions for the achievement of business objectives
  • To lead and develop a culture focusing on safety, service and operations
  • Ensure the adherence to all legislative, statutory and ethical requirements and standards at all times

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in managing warehouse operations within a 3PL environment (essential)
  • Possesses effective financial, analytical and critical reasoning
  • A strong customer service and customer relationship management orientation
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working alongside Lean principles preferable
  • Well-developed people management, mentoring and leadership abilities
  • Customer centric. Continuously seeks to find better ways of meeting or exceeding the customer’s expectations.
