We are a well-established manufacturing company producing custom made components in a variety of materials to a diverse range of customers, operating for over 35 years.
Based in Clayton, we are looking for an experienced Plastics Fabricator to join our small and friendly team on a permanent basis.
You will report directly to the Operations Manager, where your input and initiative will be highly regarded to assist in the accurate machining of a variety of components.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plastics Fabricator
- Work consistently to manufacture parts on time and with a high standard of finish and accuracy.
- Check all work at every stage of production to ensure parts are made correctly.
- Focus on maintaining or improving productivity and efficiency.
- Take an active role in the implementation of quality control procedures with a view to reducing errors and rejected parts.
- Plan jobs so that materials are used efficiently and with minimal waste.
- Keep equipment and work areas clean and well maintained.
- Other responsibilities as required by management.
Material Handling
- Ensure all incoming goods are checked and are correct in size and quantity as per order, labelled with JCN number and stored correctly in a timely manner.
- Focus on maintaining or improving productivity and efficiency by facilitating the flow of work as per the production planning system.
- Ensure that goods are dispatched correctly with correct paperwork and as promptly as possible.
- Keep delivery, despatch, and packaging and saw areas clean and well ordered.
- Maintaining the spare parts register.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Minimum of 12 months experience in fabrication.
- Minimum of 12 months experience in low volume production
- Minimum of 12 months experience in Quality Control Procedures and OH&S
- Read and write in English to Year 10 level minimum
Desirable:
- Experience in CNC setting
- Experience in engineering plastics
Work hours
Monday to Friday - 38 hours
