Flexpak is an Australian owned company which delivers printing and packaging solutions to its customers. Due to the continuing growth of our Sydney operations we are looking for an individual, to join our Operations team, as our Procurement Officer.
Delivering excellence in quality, service and value to our customers we provide innovative and focused printing and packaging products. With decades of experience in the printing industry we have developed strong relationships with many of Australia’s iconic food manufacturers.
In this position, you will procure, research and negotiate the best price and quality for our supply needs. You will also, establish relationships and serve as a representative of the company, building vendor and supplier trust as well as, create, track and monitor the delivery and confirmation of all materials and supplies.
Procurement Officer Duties and Responsibilities
- Research and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers
- Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases
- Create and maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Negotiate appropriate contracts for pricing and supply
- Examine and review products and supplies to ensure quality
- Create order and track, ensure delivery arrival on time and in full
- Organize and update database of suppliers, delivery times, pricing and quantity of supplies
- Work with team members and supervisors, to develop future purchasing plans and source potential relationships with vendors
- Develop and maintain reorder points, through evaluating previous and future demand
Procurement Officer Requirements and Qualifications
- Qualification in the related field
- Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems
- Five years previous experience as procurement officer (manufacturing experience will be held in high regard)
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to negotiate, establish, and process contracts
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
