The position of Lead Strategic Procurement Specialist forms a part of the Procurement Operations Branch in Strategic Procurement Division within Corporate Services Group.
Corporate Services actively supports Ministers and DEDJTR portfolio groups to create the conditions for sustainable economic development and employment growth. The Group works collaboratively to deliver integrated and operational functions across the department, leading the development of governance, people, culture, systems and capability.
It comprises Financial Management; Ministerial and Portfolio Services; People and Workplace Services; Strategic Procurement; Technology Services; Service Centre and Office of the Chief Corporate Strategy Officer.
Corporate Services deliver service excellence through collaboration with DEDJTR partners, stakeholders and clients.
The Lead Strategic Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading a small team that engage with key DEDJTR stakeholders to develop and deliver strategic sourcing events and category based initiatives. The ability to lead a team that delivers tangible value to stakeholders, whilst maintaining good governance, is critical to succeeding in this role.
The Lead Strategic Procurement Specialist has strong technical and soft skills, working effectively with stakeholders at various levels to achieve the desired sourcing and category outcomes.
The position reports to the Director Procurement Operations.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience of leading a successful sourcing / category team in the private or public sector .
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and category management within a large complex organisation and multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to prepare decision papers and reports to support complex recommendations.
