As a Community Transport Driver that's exactly what you will get to do, connect with people from all walks of life as you drive them all over Canberra.
This position is responsible for the provision of a safe, flexible and reliable community transport program for a range of BCS program participants. You will need an empathy for our participant group and a good knowledge of the ACT road network. You will have the ability to adapt to change as drivers schedules constantly change during the course of your day. IT is changing in the transport environment and we have tablets in our vehicles to support our everyday operations, so proficient use of IT is also required. The most important things you will need; a current drivers licence and a good driving record.
This position is primarily Thursdays and Fridays with additional relief work when required, working a minimum of 30 hours a fortnight with an annual base salary of $54,637.39 pro-rata.
Successful applicants must hold a current Drivers License, a current Working with Vulnerable People registration and a current first aid certificate or be willing to undertake a course. They will also have a responsible driving record, safe driving skills and the ability to physically assist people in/out of the vehicle and load and unload wheelchairs and walking frames.
