The Ground Transportation Systems & Secure Communications and Information Systems (GTS-SIX) Division, designs, integrates and supports command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, including mission systems, support systems, systems of systems integration.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure required equipment and materials are in appropriate locations so that own and others’ work can be done effectively.
  • Handle internal project specific logistics including control and movements of material within the site, both Thales and Customer owned
  • Where identified by project specific requirements, utilise customer controlled tools (i.e. MILIS) to actively control customer inventory
  • Contribute to reporting obligations and standards
  • Effectively manage time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and is free from errors, omissions, or defects
  • Identify more critical and less critical activities and tasks & adjust priorities when appropriate
  • Help support ongoing process improvement in the Material and Logistic process areas
  • Follow regulations and procedures
  • Encourage the others to follow regulations / procedures
  • Recognise hazards
  • Being aware of conditions that affect employee safety
  • Provide support to the shared services warehouse where required on an Ad Hoc basis

  • MILIS and DRN transaction
  • Receipt GFE purchase orders
  • Transfer GFE between locations
  • Conduct MILIS spot-check
  • Apply DTP barcoding label to identify GFE
  • Maintain DRN and report any faults on DRN equipment using the DRN fault management system
  • Action Defence freight system using ST116 on the DRN when required

  • Customer Relations
  • Proactively develop customer relationships (both internal and external)
  • Anticipate customer needs
  • Provide timely solutions and contributes positively to customer satisfaction and organisational image
  • Select and arrange the most appropriate delivery arrangements based on customer delivery due dates and relative cost to the project

  • Effective individual contributor
  • Perform task responsibilities appropriately
  • Utilise time and skills effectively
  • Perform and keep track of annual performance targets
  • Make sure all team members share relevant, consistent and up-to-date information
  • Serve as a role model to all employees by proactively demonstrating full support of Thales

Your skills and experience

  • High level of interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • Reasonable knowledge of inventory control systems
  • Intermediate level of knowledge and experience of standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Knowledge of OH&S requirements within the workplace
  • Forklift Licence and minimum baseline security clearance are highly appreciated

Special requirements

Due to the nature of the role, candidates need to hold Australian Citizenship to be eligible and need to be ITARS cleared.
