Landis+Gyr is the industry leader in the energy management business and the largest global player in electricity metering. We are seeking an experienced Import Export & Purchasing Officer who is a team player, a self-starter with excellent written and spoken communication skills.  You will be responsible for the purchasing of domestic and imported direct and indirect materials, services and logistics required for our Laverton North factory.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with qualifications in supply chain management, business, engineering or other relevant area with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in either purchasing and importation and/or supply chain positions. The ideal candidate would have worked in a dynamic and fast paced manufacturing environment and has a high level of integrity. 

As an experienced Import Export & Purchasing Officer you will require an expert level of familiarity with SAP, import processing and export processes, as well as materials planning and production planning.  You will be able to manage your time effectively, work autonomously as well as within a team and be able to maintain effective communication with both internal and external customers.

What you will be responsible for

• Managing the tracking and tracing of the importation of all material requirements
• Export sales including dangerous goods requirements
• Managing purchase orders to suppliers located in Australia and overseas
• Managing the supplier delivery and performance
• Ensuring all data in SAP is constantly updated and relevant to ensure the correct operation of the MRP and processing process
• Ensuring all supply related KPI’s are accurately inputted and reported
• Liaise with other staff to ensure that all information relevant to purchasing activities is appropriately disseminated
• Liaise with production planners to maximize production opportunity to respond to external demand
