ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our Client is Australia’s oldest privately held raw materials trading company, established in 1971
Specialising in importing Metals and Plastics into Oceania and exporting Australian sourced products to international markets, and provides it’s suppliers with full payment security and its customers quality products, payment and
delivery optionality.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Working within the opeartions team, this role calls for an Import seafreight opearor with previous experience in a similar role with in International Freight Forwarding.Edi Cargowise is prefered but not essential.

DUTIES
• Perusal of pre-costs based on traders estimates of expenses to be incurred and profit to be realized from a certain commercial deal.
• Compilation of all relevant shipping documents for on-forwarding to customs brokers for the preparation of customs clearance.
• Authorising Supplier/Freight payments
• Follow up on Pre Alerts from Supplier
• Advising cartage companies nominated concerning delivery details of a particular shipment.
• Providing pre-alerts and advising customers of the expected cargo to be received.
• Entering of itemized products (per deal or contract) on Companys Pronto ERP system for the purpose of reconciliation, costing and invoicing.
• Costing and invoicing of all of the following commercial deals following receipt of invoices from Customs brokers:

a. Free Into Store - FIS
b. Free on Board – FOB
c. Cost and Freight (CNF)
d. Cost, Insurance, Freight (CIF)

• Reviewing actual Gross Profit (GP) compared to the budgeted or estimated profit, based on the first 7 points listed above.
• Controlling local deliveries
• Liase with Cartage companies re deliveries
• Handling of container detention and/or any wharf storage claims. This involves the collation of relevant information as required for insurance and management purposes.
• Running ‘End of Month Reports.’ & Preparing report for the CFO
• Assistance in the office when other staff are on leave and as required


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• 3-5 years’ experience in a Shipping, Trade & logistics-based Administrator role
• Understand end to end import/export freight forwarder process
• Professional appearance and approach to the work day
• Demonstrated ability to explain current internal and external relationships
• Strong computer literacy (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
