About the opportunity
As an experienced, qualified Locomotive Driver you will prepare and operate locomotives and trains in a safe manner that complies with operational procedures. In tandem with this objective, you will play a key role in ensuring that customer and operational requirements are met, with a particular focus on delivery and quality. Additionally, you will provide leadership, instruction and mentoring to Junior Drivers, while proactively assisting with the development of the team culture across all streams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing/coordinating shunting movements, both independently and in cooperation with Shift Managers, in accordance with established procedures and standards;
- Processing and monitoring train performance information;
- Working with key internal stakeholders to work towards a Delivered In-Full, On-Time (DIFOT) performance for the Pacific National group; and
- Proactively working towards and supporting the achievement of safety goals.
About your experience
- Qualified Locomotive Driver with an aptitude for mechanical work
- Display a high regard for safety
- Demonstrate a supportive attitude when working within a team environment
- Have a basic level of computer proficiency
- Hold a current motor vehicle licence.
