We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a MRO Technical Specialist to join our high profile Whyalla Procurement team. Reporting to the Contracts & Procurement Manager, this position is responsible for working closely with key stakeholders at all levels of operations to procure manufactured parts and repair services in alignment with our maintenance plans to deliver best business outcomes, both in our Mining and Steelworks operations. 

While strictly adhering to company’s processes & policies for the management of manufactured spares, you will drive competitive advantage for GFG Alliance in all commercial dealings through effective application of leading edge sourcing, demand management and technical assessment activities. One of your major responsibility is to manage the engineered spares procurement and repairable processes while ensuring value is maximised for the respective businesses.  You will also provide expert guidance to the Departmental Maintenance Teams and coordinate breakdown & shutdown demand strategies.

Given the nature of the role, your key strengths will include the combination of strong analytical, influencing and relationship management skills. Under-pinning this will be your advanced knowledge & understanding of technical requirements in a maintenance environment.  This role requires the passion for a deal, aptitude for innovation and lateral thinking, strong negotiation, influencing and sourcing skills, strong business acumen, effective analytical skills, leadership skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
