Our client is a global manufacturing organisation and leading provider of mining, construction and engineering support services. An opportunity has become available for a Category Specialist to join their team at Kurri Kurri.

The Role:

The Category Specialist will focus primarily on project work Managing items in groups including fabrication items, consumables and electricity spend optimisation. You will be responsible for the following:

• Preparing supplier agreements
• Assisting with New Product Introduction (NPI) process flow
• Managing requests for quotations
• Preparing commercial analysis for consumables
• Sourcing alternative/multiple suppliers
• Negotiating, validating and coordinating lead times

The Successful Applicant

As a highly organised, analytical and process orientated individual, you will possess;

• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics and/or Materials Management preferred
• 6 years of industry experience, with minimum 3 years of experience on a similar role preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of internal organization and supplier’s organization
• Outstanding Customer Service Orientation, initiative, drive and a team player
• Possess unquestioned reputation for integrity, ethics, personal values and solid character
• Builds the trust of others both internally and externally
• Model resilience and flexibility; adapts well to new circumstances and adversity
