Family Stores are an integral part of our mission; they provide affordable, low cost clothing and household goods to those in need and a genuine alternative to the mainstream consumer experience for the wider community. The proceeds of sales help fund programs in the local community through the Harvey Bay Corps.
In the role of Truck Driver, you will provide an effective pickup and delivery service in accordance with the principles and policies of the Family Store at Harvey Bay and foster and maintain a high level of customer service with the purpose of enhancing services and supporting the achievement of TSA mission.
Selection Criteria:
To be considered for this role, ideally we are looking for:
- An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
- Hold and maintain an appropriate and valid driver’s licence.
- Minimum 1 year experience in driving and/or operating commercial vehicles
- Experience in Transport and Logistics
- Self motivated and a strong work ethic
- Sound presentation and communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact and network positively with a variety of people
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Team player, flexible with a positive attitude
- Experience in working with and/or supervising volunteers is desirable
- An understanding of the value of second hand goods is desirable.
