Naval Group Australia is the design and build partner for Australia's Future Submarine Program. This is a long term project spanning the next 50 years; focused on delivering a fleet of regionally superior submarines to the Royal Australian Navy.
We now require a Senior Purchasing Officer to join our growing team. The procurement undertaking across the Future Submarine Program is complex - the $50 billion project is the largest procurement Defence contract in Australian history. The Senior Purchasing Officer will perform a highly diverse role in a rapidly evolving environment to support the growth and development of the purchasing activities for Naval Group Australia.
The successful applicant must be eligible for an Australian defence security clearance, therefore Australian citizenship is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, establish and implement purchasing requirements;
- Develop process and document procedures in conjunction with our Governance team;
- Establish and manage an interim goods and services receipting process;
- Undertake purchase order life cycle management;
- Be involved in supplier pre-qualification and qualification activities;
- Assist with contract negotiations and management.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Commerce, Engineering or related field;
- Successful 10+ year track record in a procurement purchasing role;
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience with SAP or Oracle ERP systems;
- Demonstrated experience working with freight/logistics providers.
This role will be based in Adelaide.
You will be a clear and confident communicator – comfortable working with those at all levels of the business. Strong decision making, critical thinking, problem solving and influencing skills will be integral to your success in this position.
