The Team Leader Warehouse (TLW) is a hands-on role responsible for delivering outstanding service as determined and directed by the Branch Manager.

This role has an operational focus and responsibility for implementing Branch plans and achieving Branch objectives leading a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers.

The TLW is a shop floor position that must assume responsibility for the coordination, management, presentation and movement (inbound and outbound) of stock in the warehouse, chilled storage and agency floor. The TLW needs to be safety conscious and alert to hazards to the wellbeing of all who work or visit Foodbank Geraldton.

This role requires a person with great people skills and the ability to work with and lead a team of volunteers and paid staff.

This role as a 3 day a week, 7-1pm (21 hours per week)

Primarily the role is about organising stock in the warehouse & ensuring that it gets out on the shelves. They will be responsible for receiving stock on delivery days, in consultation with the Branch Manager, determining what we do with that stock, priorities for marking off. Sorting & storing cold & frozen stock, preparing stock for volunteers to bag, ensuring the neat order & cleanliness of warehouse & branch internals, tracking best before dates, knowing what stock is on hand.

There are a few things you will need:

• A forklift licence is essential, truck licence is desirable.
• A background in warehouse or stock management is desirable but we can teach the right candidate if necessary.
• Calmness under pressure, the ability to work with volunteers & WFD (& the challenges that presents), an ordered & structured approach to work.
