Reporting to the GM Operations, an opportunity has become available for an Manufacturing Manager to join the team at our Port Melbourne manufacturing plant. You will be part of a team who are on a journey to out-performance through manufacturing excellence and will be comfortable in an environment of change and challenge to the status quo.

The Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for:

  • Being an active leader in all safety initiatives and improvements undertaken by the company
  • Driving a quality culture through all aspects of site operations
  • Overlaying a continuous improvement approach and identifying and implementing CI and profit improvement opportunities
  • Providing a strong point of advocacy for our customers and suppliers alike
  • Focus on Talent and Employee growth programs across all functions ensuring continual skill and capability development
  • To achieve efficient manufacture of the company's current products through effective assessment and control of the available manpower, materials and machinery
  • Actively participating in and contributing towards scrap and waste reduction initiatives, analysis and reduction programme's
  • Ensuring consistent high quality products are manufactured by constantly monitoring that the production methods undertaken throughout the plant achieves the standard of finished product required
  • Controlling the hours of work to ensure wages are maintained within the budgeted limits
  • Drive opportunity across all plant based cost lines
  • Working closely with the supply chain team for the delivery of products to meet customer requirements.

To be successful in this role you will ideally be:

  • Energetic with a focus on delivering results and leading the site management team
  • Commercially astute and the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Able to think logically, develop and deliver practical solutions to complex business problems
  • Able to clearly articulate ideas and opportunities and not be afraid to champion these ideas or to speak their mind
  • Knowledgeable and have experience in financial management, gained within a major manufacturing organisation
  • A people manager with proven ability to support the development of high performing work teams.
