We currently have an opportunity for a Production Technician to oversee the operations of multiple production lines and world-class automated equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation in order to effectively achieve operational targets and contribute to the achievement of customer service levels.

Key responsibilities
Production

  • Full accountability for the effective running of the production line by overseeing the operations of world-class automated machinery including milk processing, filling and packaging and logistics operations.
  • Monitor and control computer automated machinery via the utilisation high-tech software technology (SCADA)
  • Setting up machines, optimising run conditions and overseeing critical control points.
  • Perform pre start production checks and verifications checks
  • Proactively find, identify and seek to rectify equipment faults and trouble shoot in a timely and efficient manner

Continuous Improvement

  • Play a pivotal role in identifying and contributing to site continuous improvement initiatives and diligently support Operational Excellence (OE) programs

Safety

  • Contribute to the achievement of health and safety targets and goals
  • Ensure tasks are completed in a safe manner and diligently following health and safety processes

Quality and Environment

  • Full accountability for the overall quality of product produced and despatched from site
  • Ensure the highest level of hygiene standards are met throughout the site by undertaking routine swabs and sampling
  • Set and monitor standards for yield and waste with an emphasis on waste minimisation initiatives and tight control of yields
  • Ensure line clearance and product changes are managed adequately to ensure quality requirements are met

Scheduling

  • Contribute to the delivery of daily production schedules and adhere to site scheduling performance indicators

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience within Mechanical/Electrical trades and Food Manufacturing will be highly regarded or Engineering graduates seeking to kick start their career within an iconic FMCG organisation
  • Furthermore, SAP experience and a high level of computer literacy, in particular automated manufacturing software solutions, will be highly advantageous in securing this exciting opportunity
  • Exposure to state of the art automation technology and short shelf life products advantageous
  • A strong eye for problem solving, fault finding and initiative in identifying solutions and resolving issues. 
  • You have a ‘can do’ attitude and pride yourself on your ability to build trusted relationships site-wide.
