About the Company
Our Client, operates a medium sized facility supplying product to businesses in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania. This firm is an industry leader with a competitive edge. They manufacture all forms of raw polyurethane elastomers and foams. We are searching for an experienced Chemical Plant Operator to work at their production facility located in Sydney West. This Company offers a stable and innovative industry, job specific training and plenty of overtime.
About the Role
You will be working day shift, Monday to Friday. 5am start.
However, you must be available to work some overtime to finish batches regularly.
You must also have intermediate knowledge of mathematics and measurement in order to correctly measure product and work to set recipe cards.
You will be responsible for all aspects of batch manufacturing including
- Batch preparation including preparing ingredients and raw materials
- Measuring ingredients and filling reactor and mixer with product
- Filling, capping and packing product into drums and onto pallets
- Updating batch records and documentation
- Quality Control duties including collecting samples, labelling and sending for product testing
- Monitoring timing, pressure and temperature levels and adjusting when necessary
- Manual loading/unloading of machinery
- Forklift Driving to move pallets into storage once batches completed (desirable) or willing to get a licence.
Ideally, we are searching for an experienced Chemical Plant Operator who has worked in batch manufacturing with flammable liquids. You must be willing to work overtime when required and have your own transport (due to Company location). As you are responsible for some manual lifting and cleaning (up to 25kg) you must also be physically fit and willing to not only set and monitor machinery but clean and perform preventative maintenance such as changing filters and adjusting lines in between batches and at the end of shift.
