Global company in the rail sector with a track record of successful project completion is sourcing a project manager. Multiple opportunities of career progression due to the recent acquisition and expansion of other organisations within the group.


The Role: 

The Project Manager will be responsible for the achievement of on-time, within budget delivery of  projects, to be done in a cost-effective manner whilst adhering to defined standards and practices. 

Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the project.
  • Project financial performance, as measured by project financial cost statements and other measurements in line with budgets and plans.
  • Setting up of the Project Cost Sheet and ongoing monitoring and reporting of the performance against the Sales Costing
  • Process all project sales orders from order intake to delivery.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers.

Qualifications:

  • Technical background, Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar.
  • Formal project management qualification recognised in a framework; e.g. PRINCE2, PMBoK (PMI/PMP), Agile, etc.


Experience and Skills:

  • Demonstrated management skills in a technical manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of the function and operations of Australian and international railway industries and markets. 
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management, facilitation, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting and procurement procedures.
  • Knowledge of purchasing techniques, bills of materials and inventory control.
