The Role:

Based in Prestons and reporting to the Operations Manager this position is responsible for the day to day coordination, delegation and reporting of repairs and maintenance of our heavy vehicle fleet while creating and maintaining a positive & safe working environment.​ 

This is a key leadership position for candidates with extensive heavy vehicle maintenance, team and management experience.  As the Workshop Supervisor you will be responsible for motivating mechanics and ensuring all maintenance work is completed to the company’s high standards and budgets and is documented correctly.  Your performance will have a direct impact on the operations of the business and embracing that responsibility is a must.

Note, this position is a fixed term contract for a period of six months.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiation, leadership and time management skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience on Prime Movers & Multi-combination units
  • Enjoy planning, prioritising and leading your team
  • Exceptional diagnosis skills & attention to detail
  • Be able to communicate effectively with all employees within the business
  • Attention to detail and accurate / keen to do it once and do it right attitude
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • You must be computer literate
  • Think critically and be able to prioritise tasks whilst being reliable & punctual
  • A commitment to workplace safety and sound knowledge of current WH&S practices and standards
  • Current drivers licence - HC / MC licence or willing to obtain
  • Australian Certified Heavy Mechanical Trade Qualification (preferred but not essential)
