THE COMPANY
Established in 1969, the business has grown to be one of Australia's largest privately owned meat operations. The company operates three processing sites including a pork de-boning facility, a case ready facility and an abattoir. This is an exciting position for a motivated and reliable person to join a fast paced environment, and work with a strong team at our Wetherill Park site.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will see you assisting in the management of the production room by ensuring product quality meets customer's specifications, whilst maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
In addition to this, but not limited to, you will be responsible for:
- Providing support to the production manager in people and team management
- Providing guidance to the Line Supervisors and ensure they adhere to WHS and QA requirements as well as production efficiencies
- Liaising with production trainers and take part in weekly training meetings
- Managing and reviewing yields on a weekly basis and adjust budget yields where necessary
- Liaising with maintenance and supervisors regarding machine downtown issues that may arise
- Ensuring all orders are completed to the correct specification, and raise issues with planning team should they occur
THE CANDIDATE
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar management position
- Previous experience working within the food industry
- Qualifications or substantial practical experience in this area
- A good understanding of the technical and quality aspects of food production
- Demonstrated ability to think quickly, clearly, logically whilst meeting deadlines
- Highly motivated and self driven with outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to communicate (written and verbal) confidently at all levels
- Intermediate skills within all Microsoft Office Applications
- Experience in managing competing priorities in a timely manner
- Strong planning, organisational and decision making skills
