Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team based in Milperra. The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for the coordination and optimization of procurement activities to ensure sufficient product supply to meet customer demand.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Reviewing SAP demand and generating purchase orders to procure goods within required timeframes
- Expediting and de - expediting purchase orders
- Reviewing and processing consumable/sundry purchase requisitions
- Creating and maintaining up-to-date PIR and source lists
- Communicating with key stakeholders on supply and demand
- Reviewing and processing purchase price variations
- Requesting and receiving quotes from existing suppliers
- Assisting with vendor selection, undertaking vendor reviews and monitoring delivery performance
- Creating new materials in SAP and updating parameters for existing products
- Managing imported freight and freight forwarders
- Managing off shore suppliers
The successful applicant will:
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Intermediate to Advanced SAP and Microsoft Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with large number of SKUs
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent organisaitional skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of pumps and pump components is an advantage
