Based in Emerald and supporting our Queensland heavy haulage service is our crane department. Our Emerald crane department specialise in providing a heavy lifting and mobile taxi crane hire service in the Bowen Basin region of Queensland.
Our extensive national heavy haulage and lifting network includes company branches in Perth, Kalgoorlie, Tom Price, Karratha, Port Hedland, Adelaide, Brisbane, Mackay and Emerald. Our heavy haulage and lifting network is supported by significant mobile, land and infrastructure assets nationwide, including 14 distribution centres and a fleet of more than 1,600 vehicles. This ensures Centurion provides flexible and reliable supply chain solutions for all our customers.
About the Role
Centurion Transport is looking for experienced Crane Operator to join their specialised team in Emerald to complete a variety of taxi crane hire work, including: rigging, dogging, operating mobile hydraulic slew cranes and operating mobile pick and carry cranes.
Duties
- Rigging and dogging
- Operating mobile pick and carry cranes
- Operating mobile hydraulic slew cranes
- Lifting varying over-dimensional and over-mass machinery and equipment
- Completing prestart and other operational checklists and administrative paperwork
- Transporting counterweights and ancillary equipment where required
- Complying with fatigue management and road rules and regulations
- Carrying and understanding all statutory and regulatory permits
- Attending and actively participating in routine safety meetings
- Complying with Centurion Company policies and procedures
Skills and Experience
- Highly experienced rigging and dogging
- Slewing mobile crane with a capacity over 100t license (CO) essential
- Minimum HR license with clean driving record essential – MC license preferred
- Highly experienced operating 100t to 250t mobile hydraulic slew cranes
- Highly experienced operating 20t to 25t mobile pick and carry cranes
- Experience operating road trains and restraining loads in accordance with the National Transport Commission (NTC) Load Restraint Guide 2018
- A sound knowledge of heavy vehicle legislations including fatigue management, permit requirements and operating conditions
- Detailed understanding of heavy vehicle road networks and remote locations
- Safe driving record and commitment to creating a safe work environment
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card/ Blue Card)
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal skills
