About the opportunity

Are you an experienced Capital Expeditor looking for a new challenge?

As the Capital Expeditor for our Australian capital projects you will be responsible for ensuring that capital equipment and materials for our projects are delivered on schedule and in accordance to specification.

The Core Activities of the role are:

  • Expediting capital equipment and materials as per agreed procurement plans
  • Coordinating the inspection of equipment and materials as required to ensure compliance to specification.
  • Manage and maintain Vendor equipment delivery schedules via regular Vendor communication and site visits.
  • Coordinate the logistics of equipment and materials to project sites as per agreed delivery terms
  • Risk assess Vendor delivery schedules and proactively develop recovery plans to mitigate delivery delays
  • Build strong and effective relationships with internal key stakeholders and Vendors
  • Identify and drive opportunities for improvement in expediting, inspection and materials management processes

About you

To be successful in this role and to play a part in our ongoing success you will be able to demonstrate previous expediting and inspection experience in the capital project environment, demonstrate drive and initiative and the ability to work unsupervised

You will be a strong communicator who has experience working with many internal and external stakeholders with the ability to influence decision makers.

You will have a robust track record of ensuring Vendors meet delivery schedules and be proficient in Microsoft office suite.

About where you will work

Alcoa’s Peel regional office is located in the town of Pinjarra, approximately 85 kilometers south of Perth and just 20 minutes from the coastal city of Mandurah. Approximately 80 employees provide essential support services to Alcoa’s Australian and global businesses.

The role will require time at the Peel regional offices with regular visits to Alcoa project teams on site and Vendor premises.
