Western Diagnostic Pathology (WDP) provides diagnostic pathology services to more than two million patients throughout Western Australia and the Northern Territory each year. We have 10 medical laboratories across the region, more than 200 collection sites, and a team of nearly 900 people who are dedicated to providing quality care to patients, and accurate and timely results to medical practitioners. In order to deliver a superior service to patients and practitioners across western and central Australia, we need a passionate team of talented professionals who are committed to working with us to build strong relationships with medical practitioners by putting them, and the patients they represent, at the centre of everything we do.

This newly created role, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for providing team leadership and overarching management of our Stores, Fleet and Courier departments and will be pivotal in leading business improvement and delivering change into the business. The Logistics Manager leads a team of three direct reports and approximately sixty team members and is accountable for ensuring these departments provide exceptional services that support the business.

About the role:

  • Accountable for ensuring that the day-to-day operations of your departments are performing to the highest standard
  • Review end to end processes within the three departments with a view to streamlining processes and removing duplication
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders in identifying and delivering change in line with business strategy
  • Responsible for managing budgets and associated reporting for your departments
  • Providing leadership, direction and effective communication to your direct reports
  • Identify and implement, in conjunction with key stakeholders, opportunities to lift employee engagement

To be successful for the role, the successful candidate will need to possess:

  • Qualification relating to Logistics or Warehousing Management (desirable)
  • Significant previous experience in transport, fleet and/or stores management
  • Experience using analytical and problems solving skills to identify and deliver business improvement opportunities
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with key stakeholders in delivering change
  • Previous demonstrated experience leading and inspiring teams
