Our client is seeking candidates for the position of Product Manager. You will be responsible for procurement management and product & supplier management. Your focus will be to identify purchasing cost reduction opportunities, foster and leverage strong supplier relationships and provide governance in purchasing and developing the company’s procurement capabilities.
The key responsibilities and duties:
• Identify suppliers and build strong partnership with them
• Negotiate with venders and manage deals to be more profitable for the company
• Manage internal approval processes for ordering goods and services
• Work closely with operations managers and other teams and ensure the necessary specifications and expectations
• Perform cost analysis & risk assessment and create strategies for profitable procurement solutions
• Develop and lead a strategic purchasing process
• Forecast the level of demand and determine quantity and timing of deliveries
• Conduct supplier negotiations, evaluation, down selection and ongoing management
• Drive purchasing behaviour towards compliance and maximum cost effectiveness
In order to be considered for this role you will have the following key attributes, skills and strengths:
• Previous experience in a procurement management role, ideally in the food industry or a trading company
• Strong negotiation skills
• Good commercial acumen, business judgment with strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese. Chinese language skills advantageous
• Advanced MS Excel skills essential
