The opportunity

We have an excellent opportunity that exists within our Global IT Procurement for an experienced IT Procurement Manager. Reporting to the Head of IT Procurement, Australia/New Zealand, this is a pivotal role that will provide you the opportunity to be at the forefront of the business and at the center of the transactions along with managing various stakeholders.  You will lead sourcing and procurement activities for assigned initiatives in the Australian Operations region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of IT Procurement events to maximise savings, minimise risk and maximise the quality of service delivered from suppliers
  • Support the Head of IT Procurement with procurement events as required
  • Running sourcing events
  • Contract management; both new contracts and renewals.
  • Procurement analysis.  Supplier spend and ad hoc reporting.
  • Monitor and report against supplier agreements through QBE’s tools and provide detailed analytics on contract and commercial insights
  • Report on procurement savings achieved

What does success look like?

  • You will have relevant tertiary qualifications.  Ideally in the areas of Commerce, Finance, Accounting, IT, or Legal.  An MBA or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) would be highly regarded for this role
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to challenge whilst maintaining a positive relationship
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fasted paced environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Highly organised, able to effectively prioritise with advanced task management skills
  • Extensive knowledge of finance (P&L, cost center, GL Accounts and Purchase Orders)
  • Advance experience in contract negotiations
  • Good understanding of RFP’s (Request for Proposal), SLA’s (Service Level Agreements) and supplier scorecards
  • Exposure to the IT industry – key segments, suppliers and trends
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
