The Job:
We have an immediate requirement for a Part Time Warehouse Assistant in our Moranbah branch. This role will work in consultation with the Logistics team based in our main warehouse operation, located in Mackay. This is a part time position, working 15 hours per week with flexibility to work additional hours when required.
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor in Mackay, the Warehouse Assistant will handle stock and ensure that items are received, stored, accounted for and dispatched efficiently. It would be envisaged that the successful applicant will also undertake physical tasks. Therefore, you will be required to participate in a pre-employment medical assessment including drug testing and undertake site random conducted testing.
Work involved:
- Pick stock for counter sales and pick/pack for outgoing orders
- Load/unload freight
- Stocktakes (spot and cyclic)
- Manage stock for inventory, projects and service jobs
- Deliveries and pick-ups
- Organise transport of goods to/from customers and vendors
What you need to have to be successful in this job:
- Previous work experience in warehousing preferable but not essential
- Current driver's license
- Current LF forklift license or ability to obtain
- Knowledge, understanding and ability to use warehousing systems and operations (JIM2 or similar)
- Tact and exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
- Attention to detail
- Manage workflow in a fast paced and challenging work environment
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement and stand by your decisions
- Ability to work in a small team
- Commitment to safety and adhere to OHS requirements in your daily work
