Saluda Medical is a company whose aim is to develop advanced neuromodulation systems for the next generation of implantable stimulation devices.  The primary role of this position is to develop and manage the inventory control and shipping/receiving processes for the company, and the related quality assurance, inspection, and traceability processes for materials, parts, and supplies related to the manufacturing and production of Saluda products.

Accountabilities and Associated Responsibilities

Key Focus:

  • Maintain control of materials, supplies, assemblies, and finished products within the company’s manufacturing, production and warehouse areas.

Inventory Management and Control:

  • Co-ordinate, monitor, and document all transfers of items and products between Saluda warehouse and production locations.
  • Issues parts and materials to work orders, reconcile inventory quantities after line clearance activities, and update electronic MRP system.
  • Coordinate movement of work order travellers and materials along the production process steps. Review operations schedules and production requirements to ensure timely order fulfillment in consultation with production Managers and Supervisors.
  • Monitor and maintain floor stock and Kanban levels in order to support production and also maintain stock control and traceability.
  • Liaise with production/manufacturing, quality, and engineering groups within Saluda in relation to shipping/receiving, stock levels, inventory control, and product traceability.
  • Accurate receipting, storing, and dispatching of stock – entering into database record serial no., lot no., and expiry dates of products.
  • All dispatches and transfers are to be packaged safely, securely, and clearly marked for correct delivery.
  • Report low and incorrect stock levels, discrepancies and variances, and expiry issues on all types of inventory, all sites and locations, to the relevant manager, and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in quarterly and end-of-year stock takes and cycle counts.
  • Document processes per quality system requirements.Maintain quality records. Follow good documentation practices. Check incoming and outgoing products for correct paperwork and documentation.

General:

  • Comply with all Saluda Medical policies, rules, and guidelines as well as relevant QA processes and procedures.
  • Participate in department and project/team meetings.
  • Look for process improvement opportunities.
  • Rotation to other job-related areas within the company for cross-training.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe workplace and storage areas.
  • Maintain good team relationships within the company.
  • Other duties required from time to time directed by your manager.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience with computers: word processing, spread sheets, and inventory management software. MRP/ERP experience a plus.
  • Organized, diligent, and responsible.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with raw materials, supplies, chemicals, and products related to medical components, devices, and products.
  • Experience with, and commitment to, working in a QA controlled environment.
  • Ability to work in a team.

Desirable Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience in, and an aptitude for, inventory control, production control, shipping/receiving, and general warehouse practices.
  • Experience in the medical device manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with working in a QMS/GMP controlled environment.
