The Company. A well established interstate Linehaul Services company providing full load interstate linehaul services to a number of blue-chip, international and Australian brands.

Headquartered in Sydney and with depots in other capital cities, a fully equipped workshop in Sydney, our client operates a company-owned fleet of approximately 60 prime movers in conjunction with a national network of subcontractors. 

A recently acquired business, the new owner is now embarking upon a major overhaul of the company with plans to grow the business in its traditional market and expand into dedicated contract logistics – specifically contract warehousing and distribution. The overhaul will commence with the implementation of a new, fit-for-purpose ERP and a progressive fleet upgrade, both of which are already underway.

 The position.

You will be provided with an exciting opportunity to display your new business development and sales expertise as a key member of the senior management team responsible for driving growth in interstate linehaul initially and later in contract logistics.

You must have demonstrable success in selling interstate linehaul services. My client has already acquired the services of senior executives with experience in contract logistics; these executives will provide support and assistance as required to the successful candidate.

As the successful candidate , you will be ambitious, competitive, determined and resilient, able to work collaboratively within a focused, committed team.

Selection criteria will include:

  • Professional presentation with a credible, trustworthy demeanour.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the various modes of transport, particularly linehaul within Australia.
  • Solid experience in selling interstate linehaul services.
  • Ability to accurately and quickly calculate quotations and costings.
  • Fluent in verbal and written communications.The ability to listen and ask questions more than talk-the-talk.
  • Well organised, with good administrative procedures.
  • Experience in selling third party logistics services, or at least an aptitude to learn the ropes quickly.
