Plan, develop and implement a professional procurement strategy for all direct material purchased.
Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring key performance indicators in line with key business objectives.
Monitor measure and report on strategic development and action plans, within agreed timescales to achieve business key performance indicators.
Establish streamlined business processes to continually develop the supply chain optimizing lead times, cost competitiveness and delivery performance.
Work closely with engineering focusing on Value Engineering / Analysis initiatives.
Investigate and execute cost down projects to generate favorable purchase price variance.
Negotiate with freight forwarders to ensure optimal sea freight and airfreight logistics costs.
In line with business requirements ensure components and finished products are available to satisfy customer requirements.
Ensure the business is informed with regard to market and industrial market research.
Navision knowledge would be desirable but not essential.
Self starter with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
Must be a team player and be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business
Experience
• A minimum of 3 years professional purchasing experience in a fast moving manufacturing environment.
• Computer literate in all Microsoft Office software packages.
Please note this is a contract role. Initial contract period will be 12 months.
