SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
In a safe and timely manner, attend to mechanical breakdowns, repairs and set-ups, while identifying areas for improvement across the plant.
KEY SKILLS:
Have exposure to hydraulic and pneumatic control
- Have knowledge about the extrusion, printing and converting industry
- Knowledge of refrigeration plant and air conditioning
- Experienced in a FMCG production environment is a MUST
- Fault finding capability of Rexroth/Parker/Siemens PLC's/Drives
- Hold a current Electrical licence
- Hold a current Electrical supervisors licence
- Hold HV switchgear operation licence/ticket
- Hold an current forklift licence
- Good communication skills
- Be computer literate
- Good command of English language
LIST OF DUTIES:
Ensure compliance with O.H.S. Act and regulations
- Advise of alternative solutions when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records on all work done.
- To demonstrate and be willing to work reasonable overtime and attend call-ins as required
- Purchase spares as required and keep inventory of stocks held.
- Prepare major maintenance program to be carried out during Shutdown including:
-Normal servicing of machines, as required.
-Plan the completion of outstanding Maintenance Requests during this period.
-Modifications to any machinery targeted for upgrading or replacement. - Liaise with Production Manager/supervisors at all times to minimise disruption to production requirements.
- Organise work according to priorities.
- Follow preventative maintenance program/schedule
- Perform thermo-graphic inspections around site
- Perform other duties as requested by Management/supervisors.
QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To ensure that all activities carried out on behalf of IPG are to Company's quality standard.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To execute all duties within the set down safety requirements of current/applicable Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, together with applicable electrical standards
KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURE:
- To diligently execute duties of Maintenance Electrician as efficiently and cost effective as possible to standards set down by Management.
- Job Review Interview to be carried out with you by the Engineering manager at six monthly intervals, to give feedback on personal performance.
