The General Manager - Chemical Services; is primarily responsible for the leadership and profitability of a large geographically disbursed networked Chemical Services business.
The incumbent will be accountable for Operational Excellence to create a market leading position in order to maximise opportunities that drive profitable and sustainable growth in the industry of Chemical Services and associated markets.
• Translate the strategy into specific goals, concrete targets and key initiatives, designed to grow profitability and a sustainable business model.
• Develop and deliver a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement throughout the Chemical Services vertical, with demonstrated year on year improvements in all areas.
• Develop and deliver business and market plans to execute the Chemical Services vertical operational plan and operating budgets, including actively monitoring and managing short and long term objectives.
• Champion and lead the delivery of superior and high quality customer service, driving positive net promoter responses, positive customer experiences and high rate of contract renewals.
• Build, retain and develop high performing teams through the delivery of an effective people and organisation strategy that includes effective employee engagement, mentoring, coaching and succession planning.
• Drive and deliver optimised cost and service options for customers, focussing on diligent cost management and optimal delivery of value added services.
• Develop and drive the Chemical Services vertical strategy and business plan, ensuring alignment with the Industrials and Global Logistics strategic plan.
• Leadership to drive a positive safety culture with a focus on zero fatalities through the activation and implementation of the HSE management system throughout the Chemical Services vertical in conjunction with the relevant HSE support team.
• Overall management and governance of the P&L, including monitoring and reporting on budget variances and projections, as well as identifying and activating areas for improvements, in conjunction with the relevant Finance and Commercial support team.
• Identify and drive the provision of innovative end-to-end customised solutions for new and existing customers through the effective identification of customer needs and keeping up to date with relevant industry solutions, in conjunction with the relevant Supply Chain Solutions support team.
• Provide solutions and operational support for growth of the Chemical Services vertical and identify opportunities both in the sector in Australia, Asia Pacific and global markets.
• Engage and liaise with other relevant Toll functional support teams (incl. IT, Legal, Strategy) as may be required to support the delivery of the business and market plans.
