We are a medium to large group of companies with our regional office based at the Melbourne Produce Markets in Epping. With a long established history in the Produce Industry, we distribute our fresh food products 12 months of the year into every major market nationally. To support the continuous growth of our group, we are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced Forklift Driver/Store person to join our team.
The Role
The purpose of this role is to pick, pack and deliver products in an effective and timely manner during Market trading hours.
Hours will range between
- 12:00AM to 8:00AM
- 6 days rotating rosters of Sunday to Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Work as a team and autonomously to pick pack and deliver products (including chilled and dry products) to customers as per invoice requirements
- To undertake all duties in a safe, responsible and courteous manner
- Practice safe and correct manual handling
- Correctly present paperwork as per company procedures
- Communicate and report on customer orders to sales team daily
Key Competencies, Skills and Qualifications
- Forklift licence
- Ability to work and drive at night
- Proven experience in a fast paced distribution environment
- Excellent time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Be happy to undertake repetitive work and manual labour
- Physically fit with the ability to load and unload truck within safety guidelines
- Good understanding of warehouse & transport operations
- Multi delivery experience is preferred but not essential
- Customer focused and good at building interpersonal relationships
- Good communication, time and organisational skills
