There is an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to provide maternity leave cover for a period of 12 months.

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for purchasing required goods and services in a timely manner.

Duties of the Purchasing Officer will include, but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-day management of vendors for price, quality and delivery
  • Coordination of scheduled vendor management meetings
  • Vetting of allocated vendor purchase contracts to ensure that RME’s interests are protected in purchasing transactions
  • Participating in company objective of at least 95% Delivered In Full, On Time (DIFOT) and at least 95% inventory accuracy

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

REQUIRED

  1. Significant purchasing experience (ideally of at least 5 years), preferably in a mining, manufacturing or export-related field
  2. Strong contracts experience, ideally from a mining or heavy equipment background
  3. Experience managing supplier relationships
  4. Effective written and spoken communication skills
  5. Excellent time management and organisational skills
  6. Good IT proficiency with experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems e.g. SAP / Pronto, Microsoft Dynamics AX
  7. A commitment to understanding RME’s Policy and Procedure documents

DESIRABLE

  1. Tertiary qualification(s) in Logistics, Procurement or related discipline

LICENCES

  • Possession of a current QLD ‘C’ Class Open Driver’s Licence (required)
