There is an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to provide maternity leave cover for a period of 12 months.
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for purchasing required goods and services in a timely manner.
Duties of the Purchasing Officer will include, but are not limited to:
- Day-to-day management of vendors for price, quality and delivery
- Coordination of scheduled vendor management meetings
- Vetting of allocated vendor purchase contracts to ensure that RME’s interests are protected in purchasing transactions
- Participating in company objective of at least 95% Delivered In Full, On Time (DIFOT) and at least 95% inventory accuracy
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
REQUIRED
- Significant purchasing experience (ideally of at least 5 years), preferably in a mining, manufacturing or export-related field
- Strong contracts experience, ideally from a mining or heavy equipment background
- Experience managing supplier relationships
- Effective written and spoken communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Good IT proficiency with experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems e.g. SAP / Pronto, Microsoft Dynamics AX
- A commitment to understanding RME’s Policy and Procedure documents
DESIRABLE
- Tertiary qualification(s) in Logistics, Procurement or related discipline
LICENCES
- Possession of a current QLD ‘C’ Class Open Driver’s Licence (required)
