The Position
An exciting position for a Logistics Manager has become available in our Port Melbourne Warehouse. Managing a team of six staff, you will be responsible for the logistical stock supply of a large pool of field technicians around the country, managing both company and third party owned stock. Ensuring seamless stock integrity and JIT supply to our technicians and clients is the key to success in this role.
The Suitable Candidate
You will be a flexible, effective leader who sets high performance expectations, and works closely with your team to deliver results. Versed in critical inventory management principles, you will be skilled analytically but also action oriented, driving integrity across our pick pack, receiving and audit level activities. Furthermore, you will have the planning skill-set to assist the leadership team with stock modelling when pre-planning new client implementations. A background in third party logistics (3PL) and warehousing is crucial, and any additional background in the service industry, FMCG, or any similar sectors, will also be highly regarded. Experience in the disciplines of Lean Six Sigma will be highly valued, but not essential.
Key Duties:
- Oversee daily stock reporting, cycle counts and audits to maintain stock KPIs
- Manage daily pick pack, replenishments, receiving and put-aways, stock transfers
- Maintain 5S principles in the warehouse environment
- Ensure ongoing cross-skilling of the team, training and development
- Design and implement continuous improvement solutions across your team's functions
- Work with other operational managers to model and implement process improvements to integrate our cross operational process flows
- Conduct time and motion studies to reduce process waste, and deliver ongoing 'reductions' in process flows
- Support our accredited quality, safety and environmental program, helping to grow a culture of operational ownership of QSE tasks and accountabilities

To be successful in this role, the following are essential:
- 3-5 years minimum experience managing a logistical warehouse team
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong logistical analysis ability, attention to detail, and WMS acumen
- Expertise in MS Excel and pivot tables
- Comfort and flexibility in a change and growth environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
