The Afternoon Shift Leader will be responsible for leading their team to improve line performance and support and develop team members as well as being accountable for the delivery of the daily production plan.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Practices
- Perform duties in safe and responsible manner in accordance with HSE Practices.
- Maintain a safe work environment by educating and directing team on safety procedures and by maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
Quality / Good Manufacturing Practices
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and attention to detail to ensure a clean and tidy work environment by educating and directing team on Site GMP and Quality Practices.
Manufacturing Operations
- Understanding of manufacturing work processes and material flow of resources in area of operation.
- Assign manufacturing tasks to team and ensure tasks are completed correctly and on time.
- Manage manufacturing issues and to be the first escalation point to management, maintenance and quality assurance teams.
Planning and Scheduling
- Work closely with the Production Scheduler to ensure the Production Schedule is optimised effectively.
- Ensure all resources are on track and take correction action when required.
Communication and Teamwork
- Communicate clearly in both written and verbal communication to team members.
- Train, coach and lead team members in day to day tasks.
Continuous Improvement
- Create an environment to promote continuous improvements within area of operation and across the site.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Relevant food industry experience.
- Supervisory and coaching of teams.
- Possession of a Forklift Licence.
- Strong Data Calculation skills.
- Process orientation and improvement focus.
- Intermediate Computer & spread-sheeting skills with previous SAP experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
